When I was younger I did some baby sitting for a lady whose daughter was about 7 months old. She was a good friend of the family and at times was a great relief for to since we lived in a small town I liked to get away. Anyway this baby whose name was Samantha had a severe case of baby colic and her mother being a single working mother could not stay up all night with Sam (which we called her) so mom hired me to take care of Sam so she could sleep.
Night after night I listened to screaming baby and nothing I could do seemed to make her very happy. I felt so bad for her that I began some research of my own and discovered that there were many remedies for baby colic. I began to try some of them with her mothers permission. One of the things we tried (aside from the typical home remedies that you hear of thru word of mouth) was Colic Calm this was a FDA regulated medicine 100% safe and Natural. It was a great product.
Colic Calm contains nine side-effect-free homeopathic remedies, has a great taste (so they say and Sam never disagreed) and it works fast. Although this product was made for baby colic it has also been used by many parent to aid the relief of infant reflux . This is simply the backward flow of stomach contents into the esophagus also called infant reflux.
I had lost contact with Sam and her mother after her mother sadly passed away not long after her husband died of cancer. It has been just recently I heard from Sam and her sister and found they are doing good and remember me as well as I remember them. Well its always nice to know you’ve touched the lives of even one person in your time here on earth isn’t it?

My son Austin..hes six and keeps me on my toes. He is audacious, funny, exciting, spontaneous. I love him for so many reasons. One being he never stops amazing me. The day he started kindergarten he was super excited and wanted to go without me so bad…THAT BROKE MY HEART…But I let him for the sheer importance of individuality. You have to let them grow..there is no question to that.
So off to school he went and lo and behold 2 seconds after he went in the teacher came out getting my attention because Austin said “I need LOVE before I can learn anything.”
One year later…He now tells everyone he is too big for love and he is the superbest, strongest guy around just like his dad…If your watching close you ll see him convincing himself of this throughout the day as well.
He has this new thing about going number 2 in his pants and I cant get him to stop. Ive tried everything and finally have decided to add a Super supper night. If he goes a week without GOING IN HIS PANTS he gets to make supper.
Up till now we have done the ‘clean your own mess up’ ‘ Have to go home instead of going out to eat kind of thing’…and other various stuff to detour him from messing his pants.
Hoping this one works!

4: Never ask your 3 yr old brother to hold a tomatoe.
5: You cant trust dogs to watch your food.
6: Dont sneeze when someone is cutting your hair
7: Never hold a dust buster and cat at the same time.
8: You cant hide a peice of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9: Dont wear polka dot underwear under white shorts
10: The best place to be when your sad is grandpa’s lap.

With the trip I took I brought back some great adventures. Before we left as I told you all the semi truck radiator went out and well it took a week to get that part in. So while we were in Mccook,Nebraska it was being shipped to us here in Wyoming. It was off to nebraska after an agonizing wait to get out the door as my husband always seems to take longer than Id like him to to get on the road. He is a thinking man and has to think of it all before we can go. Granite it has saved us alot of times but GOD it drives me crazy. But thats another story. Once on the road the trip there went smooth no road problems no weather problems. It was nice and relaxing overall.
Upon our arrival it was dark and time for bed But the next day was a different story. We had to rush to Walmart once to get the rest of the groceries for the dinner that was great Nana and Myself enjoyed the peace of the children being with Rick. Then when that was finished me and my husband had to return to Walmart to do almost 100 percent of our Christmas shopping (because I procrastinate and my husband works to much) When your husband hates shopping and you like to put some time into this once a year adventure trust me I would of liked to tied him into the cart and duck taped his inpatient mouth shut. But I can only dream…hes bigger than me. Once the shopping was done it was a slower race to get the wrapping and cooking done for the guest list of 25 the next day (we got there tuesday, shopped wednesday, ate thursday) Then that was it Christmas was over just like that.
The rest of our time in Nebraska was spent loading the trailer and doing odd jobs for the family we miss and love so much. I should say my husband did the odd jobs because I guess hes the chosen one …I mostly run the kids around and corral the adults. If you can imagine a clan of people that are so entirely different yet entirely the same in so many ways you could envision my Christmas vacation. The perverts and the noverts and the insanely normal all under one roof.
On the last day so it seems that sir newton was correct when he stated that what goes up must come down…Because on the day we were gonna head home lo and behold the pick up truck broke down and can you imagine what was broke…RADIATOR! My husband has a sort of karma about this crap. When one breaks it all breaks.
That set us back a day only to order the part form Advance Auto Parts and wait three hours in North Platte, Nebraska for there truck to get in and find out they never ordered the part in the first place. Yeah WHAT great customer service. We were lucky enough to find the radiator at another store however it would of saved alot of time if the peeps at the advanced auto part would have just said “we arent ordering your part today so dont bother counting on us” But as is life.
We did however get the part in the truck in the parking lot of Carquest and get on our way. Then aside form the hihg winds and the trailer load on the back we made it home in pretty good time.

Some years ago the homemakers of America began to realize that to be a success, they must be more efficient. Her job has been defined as the inter-relation of the sociological, educational, recreational, industrial and economic activities of the home in such a way as to give the highest developement, comfort and satisfaction to all the family. To accomplish these, she needed more skills in order to obtain results with minimum use of time, energy and money. She needed health to help her to be her best self. She needed information concerning her family standards of living in order to achieve results. She needed to be sincere and develope poise, personal charm and the confidence of her family. All the above was offered thru her ability to learn more and develope skills thru her familys progress.
The woman of the country have been doing this for years before her and will do it for years after she has gone.
The early days of homemakers were beset by many difficulties, among them were the influence of influenze epidemic, and world war 1. Because of the war and the food situation there were lessons given on substitutes used for absent food. And one day a week they were asked to go without meat so as to ration the minimul quantities.
With that said todays homemaker has her own set of trials and tribulations and we to shall overcome them as we see fit. We will provide for our family a safe and developed enviroment and we will ask them to give up the things that arent vital in order to teach them the skills needed to make it thru hard times and not so hard time throughout there life.

Well folks yes it is coming……Christmas. When all the turmoil of the year is blended together with family gatherings and food galour. Packing and driving and chaos of unbelievable proportions. Never a moments peace for two days of great family bliss.
I myself will be traveling to Nebraska for the holiday season. We currently live in Wyoming and the drive of 8 grueling hours with three boys, two dogs and of course my hubby is anything but amusing to me. The unfortunate part of this whole ordeal is this year its not just family fun. Since we just moved here we must go back to Nebraska for the rest of our things during this vacation of sorts. And although we will be enjoying food, family, and fun. We also must load yet another trailer full of our stored possessions.
In thought:
I believe this to be the best choice ( since 8 hours is not a drive we do often)…but in heart I wish some magic being would present itself and make this chore done and out of the way so that we may have less to do during this Christmas season. However I know that is not something to hold my breath for and so I trudge onward.
Now don’t get me wrong I do indeed love going home. It is just the mere thought of packing and loading to get there only to pack and load while we are there and then again pack and load to come back to Wyoming. UUUGGGHHH!!
On a more seasonable note
Though I know our family will all be waiting there happily to greet us upon arrival (providing its not 3 am in the morning) And we will not regret the trip even with the above circumstances.
Nana with her incredible Christmas decorations(inside and outside) and her food of scrumptious delight. Alicia and family with there endless laughter and fun loving ways. Grandma with her warm and loving heart. And Grandpa with his endearing smile and great wisdom. It will indeed be a Christmas to remember for adults and children alike.
Children all nestled in there beds nice and tight(probably not) dreaming of adventures that happen through the night. We will wake up on Christmas morning to more chaos and full bellies that linger from the night before, hoping to look outside and see a white blanket on earths floor. The children will run to the tree, tripping over everything in sight. Tearing and destroying the packages with delight.
Remember:
When all is said and done nothing will seem to have changed, aside from the extra stuff to haul back and another memorable year to mark in our memories.
With this in mind remember life is short and although you may dread a point in your year you should be glad you have loved one so dear.
